The World's largest professional body in the field of medical imaging/radiology, the American Society of Radiologic Technologists has signed a partnership agreement with Ziltron. Radiography Simulators, a series of interactive practice tests that help radiologic technology students measure their knowledge of key radiography concepts, are now available in the ASRT Store.
Created by Ziltron, an educational software company, the series includes 30 simulators that teach anatomy, collimation and positioning techniques. The simulators also demonstrate clinical procedures, evaluate knowledge and competency and provide students with instant feedback.
According to ASRT Chief Academic Officer Myke Kudlas, M.Ed., R.T.(R)(QM), the simulators help educators create a motivational learning environment. "Ziltron's simulators cover topics that are relevant to everyday practice and are a great addition to any lesson plan. Educators can use the test sets to challenge students to connect the dots between what they're learning in the classroom and what they'll encounter in a real-life clinical experience."
Ziltron offers different versions of the Radiography Simulators series, including a version for educators with unlimited online access for one year for each student. The package also includes the Ziltron Director, a tool educators can use to create assignments and monitor student progress with a real-time scorekeeper that tracks performance on test sets.
In addition, the student version includes unlimited access to the simulators for either 60 days or one year.
"Our partnership with ASRT is an endorsement of our approach to developing programs that are both current and relevant in the field of radiologic technology," said Ziltron CEO Dr. John Ryan. "Our simulators aim to bridge the gap between theory and practice for radiologic technology students and educators with an innovative and interactive online visual interface."
